Hi Liam here.
In this video I wanted to talk about the number ’3′, if you are a regular visitor to Presentation Expressions I’m sure you’ve noticed that Carl and I often talk about the number ’3′. Maybe we have suggested that you break your presentation into 3 areas and break each of those areas into ’3′ further areas. We often talk about the number ’3′ and how important it is for your presentations but…
“What makes the number 3 special?”
I wanted to give you the answer in this post. To get the answer let’s look at some things you might know.
Movies and Books
We all watch movies and read books so you might have heard of the movie ‘The Good, The Bad & The Ugly’, that’s right we can see the number 3, the good, the bad and the ugly. You might also be familiar with the fairy tale ‘The Three Little Pigs’ and another fairy tale ‘Goldilocks & The Three Bears’.
Christianity
It doesn’t matter if you’re not a Christian the number ’3′ also appears here as well. ‘Father, Son & Holy Spirit’ as an example. ‘Heaven, Hell & Purgatory’ and also ‘The Three Wise Men’. These are the most obvious ones to me.
General Everyday Life
For instance ‘The Union Jack’ has ‘Red, White & Blue’ in it and ‘Traffic Lights’ have ‘Green, Amber & Red’ lights. Also if you cross the road you ‘Stop, Look & Listen’.
As you can tell from this post the number ’3′ is all around us. Remember ‘The Good, The Bad & The Ugly’, the ‘Father, Son & Holy Spirit’ and ‘The Union Jack’ has ‘Red, White & Blue’ in it. The reason we use the number ’3′ and we encourage you to use the ’3′ is because it’s a very familiar number to people and they are very comfortable with it even if they are unaware of it.
Next time you do a presentation if you’re not doing it already use the number ’3′.
Please LIKE this on Facebook, tweet about it on Twitter or share through other social media and share the knowledge.
Enjoy the video
Thanks
Liam

That was a really good one. People often do not think about the power of “3″. Especially when in Asia, avoid at any cost the “4″ as it is often associated with “death”.
Thanks for the comment, especially the point about avoiding the number 4. Being Chinese, I totally understand.
All the best.
Sorry for my delayed reply to your comment and thank you for your comment.
Your point about the number 4 is useful knowledge to any non Asians presenting in Asia
Thanks again
Liam
