Presentation Expressions to Start, Transition & End a Presentation [VIDEO]

by Carl Kwan on October 2, 2012

Presentation Expressions to start, transition, end presentationThis site has always been about helping you learn presentation expressions, so the video this week will help you from the opening of your presentation to the end. What we’ve done is put together three expressions you can use when starting a presentation, transitioning topics, and ending a presentation.

You can watch the video below or read the complete transcript below the video.

AND…This will be our final presentations video on this site for the time being. Both of us need to focus on individual projects so you may not see a new video for a little while. However, if enough people demand something, then we’re sure to listen. In the meantime, feel free to contact us if you have questions about any of the videos on the site or if you have questions about presentations. Thank you!

Learn how to start, transition and end an English presentation

Video Script…

Liam: PresentationExpressions is here to help you give effective presentations because most people are clueless when it comes to what to do.

Carl: This video is going to give you the basics to get you through any presentation from beginning to end.

Liam: What you’ll learn are three expressions you can use to start, transition, and end a presentation.

Carl: To start your presentation, you can say:

“This presentation will move you, entertain you, and will most definitely inform you. Today, I’m going to talk to you about 3 things…”

This expression is mainly for you to remember that every presentation should move people emotionally, entertain them, and give them useful information. Also, be sure to change the number of things to how many points or topics are in your presentation.

Liam: To transition from your first topic to your second topic, you can say:

“Now that you know about thing one, let’s move onto thing two.”

This expression helps you move quickly so you don’t bore your audience, or lose time since most presentations have a time limit.

Carl: And to end your presentation, you can say…

“So now that today’s presentation has moved you, entertained you, and informed you, it’s time for you take the next step…”

End your presentation by restating what they’ve gotten, and telling them what they should do with the information they just learned.

Liam: Here’s a quick review of the three expressions…

Carl: To start, you can say…

“This presentation will move you, entertain you, and will most definitely inform you. Today, I’m going to talk to you about 3 things…”

Liam: To transition from one topic to the next, you can say…

“Now that you know about thing one, let’s move onto thing two.”

Carl: And to end your presentation, you can say…

“So now that today’s presentation has moved you, entertained you, and informed you, it’s time for you take the next step…”

Liam: Now you know how to start, transition, and end a presentation. You’re now ready to confidently give a complete presentation.

Carl: If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments section below or through the Contact page.

Liam & Carl: Thank you.
