We are pleased to welcome back Carl Pullein, presentations expert and trainer to many large companies here in Korea. We originally were planning to have a 15 minute interview, but Carl was so good that we talked for almost 30 minutes! So we decided to separate his interview into two parts.
The main reason we were going to do this interview was to get Carl’s opinion on the recent presentations given by Korea during the Winter Olympic bidding process. In particular, we wanted Carl’s opinion on Korean President Myung-Bak Lee and Olympic figure skating champion Yuna Kim’s presentations. [click to continue…]
One of the main things that both Carl and myself talk about repeatedly is how important it is to keep your presentations simple.
There are many reasons why you should keep your presentations simple and I’m going to look at one reason that you probably haven’t thought about.
I am going to show you how you can present when you have no technical aids like a computer, screen, tablet computer etc. Imagine you are having lunch with a client and the purpose is to just keep the relationship friendly. But suddenly the client wants to know about your company’s latest product.
The normal solution would be to arrange an appointment when you can give a presentation but what if you could do a presentation there and then while they are showing an interest – well you can.
At The Table Presentation
If you keep your presentations simple then it’s very easy. Watch the video to see how you can give an effective presentation with just a piece of paper or even a napkin.
In this video, I’m going to teach you how to give a self-introduction in 15 seconds or less to create a good impression. You can use this to introduce yourself before a presentation or when meeting people.
I don’t think you can ever stop improving how you create an impression with people. There’s no one best way to do give a good impression, so it’s always a good idea to learn more and try different things.
In this week’s presentation tip, you’ll learn how to give a good impression in less than 15 seconds. I say 15 seconds because people these days are so easily distracted and so busy that we have to get their attention in the shortest amount of time possible.
So check out this week’s video presentation tip: “15 Seconds To Success Or Failure”
I would also like to know how you like to introduce yourself or what you have seen that was impressive to you. Good luck and never stop learning!

First, a big thank you as we are once again lucky enough to have Tim Thompson, visiting Professor at KAIST, help us out and teach all of us some really great presentation tips.
This time around, Tim will discuss “The Top 10 Presentation Errors You Need to Avoid” in a recorded interview. [click to continue…]
One of the things I stress to people is the importance of showing up early to your presentation and getting ready well in advance. Another equally important thing is to be totally prepared to set up your equipment and the room. So, inspired by last week’s Featured Pro, Joshua Davies, I decided to talk about what to pack for your presentation. Have a look at the video and let me know what you think.
